On the penultimate day of the 31st Summer Olympic Games the competition is being continued by freestyle wrestlers.

Armenia's Olympic team member Levan Berianidze (125kg) started the struggle from the 1/8 finals and competed against Chinese Zhiwei Deng. The bout ended 2;2 and as Armenia's representative was the last to earn a point, he continued the competition.

In the second bout Berianidze was competing against Hungary's Daniel Liget whom Berianidze defeated 3:1 and qualified for the semifinals.

In the semifinals Berianidze's opponent was Turk Taha Akgul. Berianidze lost 8:1 to the reigning champion and will fight for the bronze medal with the winner of Mongolia-Belarus pair.
