The Armenia Men’s and Women’s Weightlifting Junior Championships were held at the State Sports Collage of Olympic Reserve from April 20-25.
In the men’s competition the Armenian champion title was won by Monte Mkhitaryan (55 kg, total 215 kg), Ara Poghosyan (61 kg, 247 kg), Sevak Nikoghosyan (67 kg, 266 kg), Armen Grigoryan (73 kg, 288 kg), Karen Margaryan (81kg, 316 kg), Karen Avagyan (89 kg, 338 kg), Hmayak Harutyunyan (96 kg, 301 kg), Yasha Minasyan (102 kg, 333 kg), Aram Asatryan (109 kg, 330 kg) and Varazdat Lalayan (+109 kg, 390 kg).
Among women the following athletes became champions; Mariam Hayrapetyan (45 kg, 92 kg), Aleksandra Grigoryan (49 kg, 142 kg), Tanzela Grigoryan (55 kg, 137 kg), Anush Arshakyan (59 kg, 155 kg), Elen Harutyunyan (64 kg, 147 kg), Milen Khachatryan (71 kg, 183 kg), Luiza Sahradyan (76 kg, 170 kg), Aida Manukyan (81 kg, 172 kg), Diana Aghabekyan (87 kg, 175 kg) and Arpine Dalalyan (+87 kg, 210 kg).
The weightlifters prepare for the IWF Junior World Championships to be held in Fiji from June 1 to 8.
