Junior European Championship: Arman Andreasyan and Arman Avagyan to wrestle for bronze

On June 7 freestyle wrestlers started their performances at the Junior European Championship underway in Pontevedra, Spain. On the first day Armenia had five representatives – Harutyun Manukyan (57 kg), Gegham Galstyan (65 kg), Arman Andreasyan (70 kg), Arman Avagyan (79 kg) and Kolya Harutyunyan (97 kgկգ).

Arman Andreasyan (70 kg) after having two wins reached the semifinal where lost to Russia’s Magomed Abdulkadirov (2:2). On June 8 the Armenian wrestler will fight for a bronze medal.

Arman Avagyan (79 kg) began the championship from the qualification round and after three victories qualified for the semifinal. He wrestled with Russian Akhmad Tashukhadjiev and lost 8:9. On June 8 Arman Avagyan will fight for bronze.

Harutyun Manukyan (57 kg) and Gegham Galstyan (65 kg) after starting with victories lost in the quarter-finals and left the struggle.

Kolya Harutyunyan (97 kg) entered the struggle from the quarter-final where he was defeated 2:6 by a Belarusian wrestler.

Hrachya Margaryan (61 kg), Hrayr Alikhanyan (74 kg), Mher Markosyan (86 kg) and Ashot Rushanyan (125 kg) has also joined the Armenia freestyle wrestling team at the Junior European Championship.
