The flame of the Winter Olympics has been lit

The flame of the II Winter Youth Olympic Games has been lit in Greece. Four young Norwegian and Greek people carried the flame though the Panathenaic stadium built of marble. Afterwards, the fight accompanied by the Olympics officials was sent to the host city of Lillehammer. 

The second Winter Youth Olympic Games will be held in the Norwegian town Lillehammer which will host Olympics for the second time in its history. In 1994 Lillehammer hosted the XVII Winter Olympic Games and it was the only candidate to put its bid for the 2016 Youth Olympics. On December 7, 2011 it was officially announced as the host city of the Olympics. Lillehammer is the second city after Innsbruck to host both Winter Olympics and Youth Olympics. During the opening ceremony Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway will light the Olympic flame as her father Crown Prince Haakon, did in 1994.
