On the fourth day of the European Games being held in Minsk boxer Gurgen Hovhannisyan (+91 kg) came out.
In the 1/8 final the Armenian athlete faced Turkey’s Ilyas Muchahit. Hovhannisyan celebrated victory 3:2 and reached the ¼ finals.
Gurgen Hovhannisyan had started performing from the 1/16 finals where had won 3:2 Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Veletik Dusan.
Earlier on June 24 Armenia’s boxer at 56 kg Zhirayr Sargsyan had conceded defeat in the 1/8 final.
Today Baregham Harutyunyan (52 kg) will also perform.
The 1/8 finals’ bouts of this weight category will be held on June 25.
