Minsk 2019: Garik Barseghyan and Andranik Galstyan lose ¼ finals

The wrestling competition has kicked off at the European Games underway in Minsk, Belarus.

On June 25 freestyle wrestlers Garik Barseghyan (57 kg) and Andranik Galstyan (125 kg) entered the competition.

Barseghyan started fighting from the 1/8 finals where won 3:1 Romania’s Andrei Dukov.

In the ¼ finals Barseghyan’s opponent was Russia’s Zavur Uguev whom the Armenian wrestler lost 0:10. If Uguev reaches the finals Barseghyan will have a chance to participate in the repechage fight.

In the semifinal Uguev’s rival will be Azerbaijani Mahir Amiraslaniov.

Andranik Galstyan also started performing from the 1/8 finals winning there Austria’s Johannes Ludescher, 6:4.

Galstyan lost the fight for the semifinals (0:10) to Ukraine’s Oleksandr Khotsianivskyi. If the Ukrainian wrestler wins Russia’s Anzor Khizriev and reaches the finals, Galstyan will get a chance to fight in the repechage round.
