The Armenia U18 women’s basketball team returned to Armenia after winning the European Championship Division C.
At the airport team’s head coach Vahagn Harutyunyan commented on the team’s performance.
“Two years ago we also became the U18 Division C winner and this time the responsibility was greater to repeat the same result but this year it was tougher. The Malta team was well-prepared but our girls managed to win. The team wanted to succeed, you don’t imagine how their eyes were shining before the start of the game,” the head coach confessed.
Vahagn Harutyunyan told next year also they would take part in the Division C.
“Only in 2021 we will try to perform in the Division B; the teams there are different and the level too,” he concluded.
Slavik Galstyan at 63 kg will wrestle for a bronze medal and his opponent will be Iran’s Meysam Dalkhani.
