On the last day of the Canoe Sprint World Championship hosted by Hungarian Szeget from August 21-25 Armenia’s representative Vladimir Alaverdyan didn’t perform in the final of K1 5000m event.
In a conversation with the ANOC press service Vardan Adamyan, secretary general of the Armenia canoe federation, commented on why the athlete hadn’t taken part in the final.
“He had participated in several competitions, 500 and 1000m events. He had health problems, was feeling bad and missed the competition.” Vardan Adamyan said.
It was Armenia’s third medal in the combined exercise.

Stepanyan has ended up sixth in the final of the scratch race.
