At the European Team Chess Championship held in Batumi, Georgia, Armenian representatives have won individual medals.
Levon Aronian, leading player of the Armenia chess team, deserved a silver medal on the 1st board. He scored 5 points out of 8 and conceded only to Russian Dmitry Andreikin.
Anna Sargsyan, newcomer of the Armenia women’s team, became a gold medalist on the 4th board. She scored 7 points out of 8. Sargsyan also fulfilled a women’s grandmaster norm for the third time and men’s international master norm for the second time.
Earlier the Armenia team had placed 4th in the European Championship and the women’s team was the 7th.
The championship is being held in Boston
8 wrestlers will take part in the Ali Aliev Memorial Tournament.
