The Armenian Rapid Chess Championship was held at the Chess House after Tigran Petrosyan.
Robert Hovhannisyan who had taken the second place at the Armenian Chess Championship on the eve, became Armenia’s rapid chess champion gaining 7, 5 points after 8 rounds. Tigran Petrosyan was the second with 6, 5 points, the 3rd -6th positions were shared by Arman Hayrapetyan, Hovhannes Gabuzyan, Hrant Melqumyan and Karen Grigoryan who earned 6 points each.

Slavik Galstyan (63 kg) lost 2:6 to Azerbaijani Taleh Mamadov.
