Rio-2016: Boxer Vladimir Margaryan knocked out of competition due to an injury

21:00 - 11 Aug, 2016

Armenia's boxer at 69kg Vladimir Margaryan suffered a technical defeat in his second bout at the 31st Summer Olympic Games.

Margaryan's opponent was London Olympic champion Roniel Iglesias. The referees didn't allow continuing the bout due to Margaryan's eyebrow injury and awarded the victory to the Cuban.

Let us recall that these are the first Olympic Games during which boxers don't wear boxing gears. Such a decision was made to make boxing more spectacular.
