The Armenia’s freestyle wrestling team prepares for International Soslan Andiev tournament

The Armenia’s freestyle wrestling team led by the head coach Arayik Baghdasaryan prepares for the International tournament after Olympic two-time champion Soslan Andiev which is held in Vladikavakaz from October 6 to 7.

“Tomorrow the team leaves for Vladikavkaz to join in Soslan Andiev International tournament where mostly Russian teams come out. It’s a famous tournament with high competitiveness. In 57kg weight class will compete Garik Barseghyan, Garnik Mnatcakanyan and Gor Grigoryan. Gor is a young and prospective athlete. We should give him a chance to perform himself. In 61 kg (w.c). we have no representative. In 65kg (w.c) will fight Valodya Frangulyan. We try him in other weight class. We have also the World and Europe champion Davit Safaryan and Valter Margaryan (70kg), Grigor Grigoryan and Varuzhan Kajoyan (74kg), Shamir Atayan and Musa Murtazaliev( 86kg), Andranik Galstyan and Edgar Yenokyan (97kg)”, said the head coach of Armenia’s freestyle wrestling adults team, Arayik Baghdasaryan to the ANOC reporter.

The opening ceremony of the tournament is on November 6. In the first day of tournament the wrestlers of 57kg, 61 kg, 65 kg and 70kg weight classes will compete.
