Second number of the Armenia women’s chess team Lilith Mkrtchyan has been bestowed a bronze medal of the World Team Chess Championship held in Astana.
Lilith Mkrtchyan earned 4.5 points of 8 playing on the second board and registered the third best result.
Let us recall during 9 rounds the Armenia chess team had won Egypt, lost to Russia, India, China, the USA, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and drew the games against Hungary and Georgia. The Armenian chess players had placed 8th with 4 points.
The Armenia women’s team had got the right of participation in the championship due to the 6th place in the 2018 Olympiad.
In 2018 Austrian cyclist Laura Stigger was named the best young athlete.
