The Armenia sambo team has won 4 silver medals at the European Championship underway in Gijon.
In the sports sambo competition the second places were taken by Grigor Mkhitaryan (57 kg), Maksim Manukyan (62 kg) and Vahagn Chalyan (82 kg). John Balayan (52 kg) suffered defeat in the finals of the sports sambo and won a silver medal too.
Earlier, Tigran Kirakosyan (52 kg) had become a European champion in sports sambo and Rafik Manukyan (sports sambo, 68 kg) and Poghos Badalyan (combat sambo, 57 kg) had won bronze medals.
The Armenia sambo team takes part in the European Championship with 19 athletes.
