First it was shortly presented what kind of preparatory work the NOC of Armenia had done for the participation in the European Games and how many athletes were going to represent Armenia there.

Then the ANOC president welcomed the guests.

“Welcome, dear athletes and coaches. These are the 2nd European Games. As you know the 1st Games were held in the capital city of Azerbaijan, Baku, and the NOC of Armenia, having received the necessary guarantees from the IOC and IOC President Thomas Bach, took part in those games keeping high the sporting honor of Armenia. It must be recorded in history because our athletes could both raise our flag and return with a medal. And these games will take place in our friendly Belarus and we should do everything to come back with medals. Today we have strong athletes who can show good results,” the ANOC president noted.

After Gagik Tsarukyan’s speech head coach of the Armenia shooting team Seyran Nikoghosyan thanked the NOC of Armenia for allocating funds for new sports equipment and head coach of the Armenia cycling team Armen Gyozalyan said they were very thankful for both vitamins and necessary sports supplies.

Lets us recall with the support of the NOC of Armenia the Armenia freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, sambo, judo and boxing teams are spending a training camp in Olympavan these days and the artistic gymnastics team is preparing for the European Games in Tbilisi, Georgia.
