Minsk 2019: Valodya Frangulyan loses in fight for bronze medal

Freestyle wrestler Valodya Frangulyan (65 kg) failed to win a medal at the 2nd European Games.

At the European Games underway in Minsk Frangulyan wrestled with Ukraine’s Gor Hovhannisyan in the fight for a bronze medal and lost 2:8.

Valodya Frangulyan had entered the mat from the 1/8 finals where had conceded 0:6 to Azerbaijani Haji Aliev.

The Azerbaijani wrestler had reached the finals letting Frangulyan to wrestle in the repechage round.

In the repechage bout Frangulyan had prevailed over Belarusian George Koliev, 3:1.

Garik Barseghyan (57 kg), Sargis Hovsepyan (97 kg) and Andranik Galstyan (125 kg) have already performed at the freestyle wrestling competition of the European Games.

Hovsepyan has lost in the 1/8 finals, while Barseghyan and Galstyan – in the ¼ finals.
