World Junior Championship: Tigran Minasyan to wrestle for bronze medal

The World Junior Championship is underway in Tallinn, Estonia.

Today Greco-Roman wrestlers at 55, 63, 77, 87 and 130 kg entered the competition.

At 55kg Tigran Minasyan started the struggle from the 1/8 finals where gained advantage 10:0 over India’s Vijay Vijay.
In the quarterfinals the Armenian wrestler won 9:0 Ukrainian Vladyslav Kuzko.

In the semifinals Tigran Minasyan fought against Russia’s Anvar Allakhiarov and conceded 7:8 in a tense bout. Tomorrow he will wrestle for a bronze medal.

At 63 kg Hrachya Poghosyan started performing from the qualification round where defeated 9:0 Korean Kyotaro Sogabe. In the 1/8 finals his opponent was Iran’s Shahin Mofrad whom Hrachya lost 1:3.

Later the Iranian wrestler lost too and Poghosyan missed the chance to fight for a bronze medal.

Vahe Poghosyan (77 kg) started the competition from the qualification round winning 8:6 Kyrgyz Azamat Uulu. In the 1/8 finals he suffered defeat 6:12 from India’s Sajan Sajan.

The Indian wrestler lost in the quarterfinals and Vahe won’t compete for a bronze medal.

At 87 kg Hakob Baghdasaryan started his performance from the 1/8 finals where won 4:3 Ukraine’s Valentyn Shkliarenko while in the quarterfinals he lost to Belarusian Ihar Yarashevich, 1:3.

The Belarusian wrestler lost the quarterfinal bout too depriving Hakob to wrestle for bronze.

Tomorrow wrestlers of 60, 67, 72, 82 և 97 kg weight classes will started performing.
