Levon Aronyan and Sergei Movsesyan have qualified for the next round of the FIDE World Cup underway in Khanty-Mansiysk.
In the second game of the first round Levon Aronyan won Egyptian Essam El Gindy and qualified for the next round. The first game had ended in a tie.
Arman Pashikyan lost the first game then drew the game with Iranian Alireza Firouzja. Robert Hovhannisyan lost the first game to Russian Anton Demchenko then tied the second one but left the struggle because of the defeat suffered in the first game.
Sergei Movsesyan won Russian Grigoriy Oparin and reached the next round.
