The head coach of the Armenia freestyle wrestling team, Habetnak Kurghinyan, summed up the results of the 3rd Andranik Haroyan Memorial Tournament in a conversation with journalists.
“The tournament went normally. The guys were in good shape. To tell the truth in recent years we have a problem with the quantity of wrestlers due to their service in the army but we have young and prospective athletes. On the eve of the U23 World Championship Armenia didn’t have representatives in some weight classes. This tournament gave the answer to this question. The final lineup of the team will be announced next week,” he said.
As for Arsen Harutyunyan and Vazgen Tevanyan the head coach said, ”They have already had a rest, Arsen has also taken a treatment and their participation in the U23 World Championship will become clear next week,” Kurghinyan concluded.
The U23 World Championship will be held in Hungarian capital Budapest from October 28 to November 3.
Aronyan competed with 22 pupils with disabilities from inclusive educational schools.
They have started the competition from the 1/8 finals.
In the 97kg w.c. Armenia will be represented by Andranik Galstyan.
