Wrestler Maksim Manukyan conquers an Olympic qualification

The second Olympic Qualifying tournament has kicked off in Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

On April 22 Greco-Roman wrestlers measured their strengths. Roman Amoyan (59kg) lost 4:7 to Iranian Hamid Suryan and dropped out of the competition from the first bout.
Arsen Julfalakyan (75kg) lost 0:7 to Hungary’s Peter Bachi in the qualification round, the last one reach the finals letting Julfalakyan continue the fight for the third place and a qualification. The Armenian wrestler won confidently in the comforting bouts and will compete against a Romanian athlete for the first place.
Maksim Manukyan at 85kg won a Greek wrestler in the first bout and then gained advantage over (6:4) Czech Artur Omarov. In the quarter-finals the Armenian wrestler won an Austrian opponent and qualified for the semifinals where he competed with Germany’s Ramsin Azizsi. After a tense and tough fight the Armenian wrestler won 12:4 the opponent and reached the finals.
Edgar Khachatryan (130kg) won his Indian opponent in the first bout but lost to Belarus’ representative Ioseb Chugoshvili.
