The last day of the Olympic Wrestling Qualifier is underway in Istanbul, Turkey.
Armenia was represented by three freestyle wrestlers – Davit Safaryan (65kg), Grigor Grigoryan (74kg) and Musa Murtazaliev (86kg).
2013 world and European champion Davit Safaryan lost the first round to an American wrestler (2:3) and Musa Murtazaliev conceded to William Hart of Germany (0:4).
At 74kg Grigor Grigoryan started the fight with a victory beating Andrey Karpach of Belarus (11:0) in the qualification round. In the 1/8 finals the Armenian wrestler was about to win Spain’s Taimuraz Friyev Naskidaev but lost 8:18.
So the Armenian freestyle wrestling team has 3 Olympic qualifications conquered by Garnik Mnatcakanyan (57kg), Georgy Ketoyev (97kg) and Levan Berianidze (125kg).
