Armenian Youth and Adults Track Cycling Championships come to an end

The Armenian Youth and Adults Track Cycling Championships came to an end at Yerevan Velodrome.

In the Olympic sprint event among youth the first place was taken by “Hayastan” Sports Union Team (Levon Lavchyan, Zhora Margaryan and Taron Nikoghosyan). The second and the third places were taken by alumni of the Children and Youth Cycling School of Olympic Reserve (2nd place – Hovhannes Yeranosyan, Amu Asubov, Babken Poghosyan and 3rd place – Henrik Yeranosyan, Avag Grigoryan, Hayk Sahakyan).

In the 3km pursuit competition, Zhora Margaryan finished first, Levon Lavchyan – second and Taron Nikoghosyan – third. In the team pursuit (by points) the best result was registered by Hayk Sahakyan (26 points, Children and Youth Cycling School of Olympic Reserve). Poghosyan Babken placed second (16 points, Children and Youth Cycling School of Olympic Reserve) and Amu Asubov – third (15 points, Children and Youth Cycling School of Olympic Reserve).

Taron Nikoghosyan became the winner of the team sprint; he was followed by Zhora Margaryan and Levon Lavchyan.

After a four-day struggle among adults Pavel Stepanyan became Armenia’s absolute champion. Robert Khachatryan grabbed a silver medal and Nikolay Gasparyan – a bronze one.

The Armenian Cycling Team will have a training camp in Tsaghkadzor from June 20.
