The Junior World Wrestling Championship is underway in Macon, France.
On the second day of competition wrestlers of 55kg, 66kg, 84kg and 120kg weight classes competed on the mat.
Edgar Khachatryan at 120kg became a bronze medalist of the Junior World Championship. The Armenian wrestler won a Belarusian athlete 9:0 in the first bout, then lost 1:10 to Turk Osman Yildirim who reached the final letting Khachatryan continue the struggle in the repechage where he won 8:0 and 5:0 Canada’s and Ukraine’s representatives. In the fight for the bronze medal Khachatryan won Russian Nikolai Izmailov by fall.
Malkhas Amoyan at 66kg lost the bout for a bronze medal to Azerbaijan’s Islambek Dadov.
Edgar Tamazyan lost to a Kirgiz wrestler in the quarter-finals and dropped out of the competition.
So the Armenian junior Greco-Roman wrestling team returns to the motherland with two bronze medals which were conquered by Sergei Simonyan (50kg) and Edgar Khachatryan (120kg).
Freestyle wrestlers will start the competition from September 3.
