13:33 - 26 Mar, 2019

From now on master students of the Marketing and Management Department of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport will undergo practice at the National Olympic Committee of Armenia. According to the agreement signed by the parties students will have their practice in the Marketing Department of the NOC of Armenia studying sports marketing.

According to Mane Muradyan, ANOC President Gagik Tsarukyan’s assistant, this project will contribute to the development of sports marketing in Armenia.

“In 2015 when the Sports Marketing Department opened in the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, we were constantly looking for good specialists in this sphere but we faced some obstacles. We are very glad that in 2016 Vahram Arakelyan, keeping pace with the times, tried to help us and the Sports Marketing Department was opened in the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport for master students. It gave us an opportunity to have practiced post graduates in the sports marketing sphere. As this year with Gagik Tsarukyan’s support the Sports Marketing Department was reopened in the NOC of Armenia we try to replenish it with new staff and during this trial period we cooperate with the Marketing Department of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport. The students will practice here 3 weeks, and, naturally, we will choose the best ones as we are planning to open marketing departments in all federations. It will contribute to the independence of federations, dissemination of advertising platforms, involvement of athletes in advertisements and implementation of other big projects. This way we will make our federations to correspond to the international standards. We are very pleased that Vahram Arakelyan has already prepared master students in sports marketing the market of which is rather empty. We hope soon it will also include bachelors. The best students practiced here will get a chance to use their knowledge in practice and we will try to deliver our experience and knowledge to them. I think our cooperation will succeed and we will have skillful specialists as the teaching staff of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport is highly professional. Their knowledge is beyond a doubt. We will try to apply everything in practice, to show more thoroughly both the sports and ANOC’s marketing as well as the standards of the NOC of Armenia,”-noted Mane Muradyan.

The head of the department of the Sports Management and Social Science of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport, Anahit Harutyunyan, noted that the expectations of the cooperation with the NOC of Armenia are great.

“I think today’s requirements dictated the need of such a profession but the main aim of the magistracy is not to prepare marketing and management specialists in practice but to organize research activities in the field of science for providing services to it. After some analysis we understood that getting practice is very important and now we are working on it. At first we cooperated with the Ministry of Sort and Youth Affairs but then some of our suggestions referring to the federations weren’t accepted for some reason.

We have many expectations of the cooperation with the
National Olympic Committee of Armenia as we know what status Olympic sports have and how the Olympic Games are perceived all over the world. I think we will achieve the best practical results due to the cooperation with the ANOC. We have also signed an agreement with Olympavan,”- noted Anahit Harutyunyan.

The head of Marketing Department of the NOC of Armenia, Mariam Martirosyan, told the students had already been given the first tasks.

“We are going to work in 4 directions with 8 students who practice here. They have already been give tasks in 4 directions. Soon they will present their options and we will discuss them together. Afterwards the presentation of the project will take place and it will be attended by the administration of the NOC of Armenia and the institute,”-noted Mariam Martirosyan.
