The first phase of the acceptance of applications for the Tokyo 2020 tickets’ sale has run out.  7, 5 million Japanese residents registered for the lottery in 20 days. The winners will become known on June 20.

The number of visitors of the ticketing website has reached 24 million. 

Last week the IOC Coordination Commission led by John Coates visited Tokyo. The specialists noted that fans’ such great interest to attend the Olympic Games is a novelty for them.

Fans are mostly interested in attending gymnastics, wrestling, judo, swimming competitions as well as the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games.

It’s expected that 7,8 million tickets will be bought by Japanese and 2 million tickets by fans from other countries.

The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will be held from July 24 to August 9, 2020.
