Minsk 2019: Winner of Armenia’s first medal David Grigoryan: I’m satisfied with my result

Samboist David Grigoryan at 82 kg won the first medal for Armenia at the European Games being held in Minsk.

In the final Grigoryan lost 0:7 to Russia’s Andrey Perepelyuk.

After the final fight the Armenian athletes shared his impressions with the ANOC press service.

“It was an inconvenient opponent for me, it resulted in a tough fight. It wasn’t the first time I was wrestling with him and every time it comes out tough. I’m satisfied with my result. I performed well in all fights till reaching the final and won the world current champion. I failed the final but next time I will overcome him,” the European Games silver medalist said.

Let us recall David Grigoryan had started the struggle from the quarterfinals where he dhad efeated 3:1 Italian Alessio Miceli.

In the semifinals Grigoryan’s opponent had been Georgian Besarioni Berulava whom our wrestler had won 1:0 and had got a right to fight for a gold medal.
