Minsk 2019: Artur Aleksanyan reaches semifinal

World and European multiple champion, Olympic gold medalist Artur Aleksanyan (97 kg) has reached the semifinals.

On the 9th day of the 2nd European Games underway in Belarusian capital Minsk Artur Aleksanyan started the competition from the 1/8 final where won 2:1 Georgian Revazi Nadareishvili.

In the ¼ final Aleksanyan celebrated volitional victory over Austrian Daniel Gastl and reached the semifinal where he will face Russia’s Aleksandr Golovin.

Maksim Manukyan (87 kg) also entered the mat on June 29 but lost the first fight to Ukraine’s Zhan Beleniuk, 1:5.

If Beleniuk reaches the final Maksim will get a chance to participate in the repechage round. Beleniuk’s opponent in the semifinal will be Belarusian Radzik Kuliyeu.
