World Cup: Levon Aronyan defeats Maghsoodloo

In the second round of the FIDE World Cup ongoing in Russian Khanty-Mansiysk Levon Aronyan defeated Iranian Parham Maghsoodloo registering a draw. The Armenian GM had won the first game.
Sergei Movsesyan continued the struggle with world cup winner Ding Liren in the 1/32 finals. The second game was a draw too and on September 15 they will play a tie-break.
Arman Pashikyan and Robert Hovhannisyan weren’t able to overcome the first round.
Levon Aronyan is the current winner of the FIDE World Cup.
