Karapet Chalyan at 77 kg lost the bout for a bronze medal at the World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship coming to an end in Kazakhstan.
The Gyumrian wrestler fough for the bronze medal against Iranian Mohammadali Geraei and lost 6:9.
The Armenia Greco-Roman wrestling team ended its performances with two medals at the World Championship. Earlier Slavik Galstyan had become a world bronze medalist and Artur Aleksanyan had won a silver medal (97 kg). The Rio 2016 Olympic gold medalist, three-time world and four-time European champion hadn’t taken part in the final match because of an injury.
On June 25 freestyle wrestlers Garik Barseghyan (57 kg) and Andranik Galstyan (125 kg) entered the competition
During three days the IOC representatives visited various venues.
The Armenian representative showed a total of 230 kg result (105+125).
