“We have reduced women’s 7 weight classes to 3 as their condition isn’t satisfactory. There is a growth in the number of participants compared to last year, but they are not competitive in international arenas. Among men Ferdinant Karapetyan (66kg) became a revelation for us, participating for the first time in the championship he was crowned a champion. Our hope are lower weight class participants”, said Judo Federation Vice President Davit Khitaryan.

The Armenian Judo Championship was attended by 91 judokas from 17 sports structures.
The winners were awarded by the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Gabriel Ghazaryan and Judo Federation President , Vardan Voskanyan.
