Levon Aronian lost to Chinese Ding Liren in the semifinals of the Grand Chess Tour being held in London.

First the grandmasters spent two classic matches where there was no winner. Then Ding Liren won in 2 games of the rapid chess and 4 matches of the blitz chess competitions.

In the other semifinal French Maxime Vachier -Lagrave defeated world champion, Norwegian Magnus Carlsen.
On 6 December Vachier -Lagrave and Liren will face each other in the final and Aronian and Carlsen will compete for the third place. The prize fund of the tournament is $350.000.
