Armenia boxing team has left for Samsun

Armenia boxing team led by head of the delegation Derenik Gabrielyan and head coach Karen Aghamalyan has left for the Turkish city of Samsun where an Olympic qualifier will be held from April 7 to18.

The athletes were in a good and fighting mood.

In a conversation with ANOC press service Karen Aghamalyan noted that the athletes were conscious of where they were going and what for.

“We have worked hard during the last 2 training camps. I see in the boys’ eyes that they are conscious of where they are going and what they must fight for. As for Anush Grigoryan she is in good shape, too. We are full of hopefulness and nothing must impede us. Our brothers are fighting on the border and protecting our land and we are going to our war”.
Secretary General of the NOC of Armenia Hrachya Rostomyan also came to encourage and wish good luck to the Armenian boxers.

The following boxers will fight for qualifications – Artur Hovhannisyan (49kg), Narek Abgaryan (52kg), Aram Avagyan (56kg), Samvel Barseghyan (60kg), Hovhannes Bachkov (64kg), Vladimir Margaryan (69kg), Arman Hovikyan (75kg), Nikol Harutyunov (81kg), Rafael Simonyan (91+kg) and Anush Grigoryan (51kg).
