Young wrestlers conquer 2 gold and 3 bronze medals at an international tournament

Armenia youth wrestling team led by head coach Avetik Vardanyan participated in an international tournament held in Vitebsk, Belarus.

During 2 days of the tournament the Armenian wrestlers conquered 2 gold and 3 bronze medals. Hayk Badalyan (50kg) and Tigran Mnatcakanyan (74kg) were named winners, Mkhitar Grigoryan (55kg), Gevorg Tadevosyan (60kg) and Ashot Velitcyan (66kg) captured bronze.

“This tournament gave us much experience. We could assess the guys’ physical conditions and abilities. There were some mistakes and gaps which should be worked on. After returning to Armenia the guys will have a rest. Then we will leave for Dagestan with a larger staff and pass a training camp there, after it, on April 8-10 we will take part in another international tournament”, head coach Avetik Vardanyan said to ANOC press service.

Armenia was represented at the tournament by the following athletes - Hayk Badalyan (50kg), Mkhitar Grigoryan (55kg), Gevorg Tadevosyan (60kg), Ashot Velitcyan (66kg),  Tigran Mnatcakanyan (74kg) and Sargis Hovsepyan (84kg).
