The Armenian weightlifting team placed first with conquered medals. The Armenian weightlifters captured 8 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze medals in Forde. Turkey placed second and Ukraine- third.

Armenia’s men’s weightlifting team came in second in the team result. It earned 503 points. Russia’s team placed first with 524 points and Turkey – third.

In the men’s competition Andranik Karapetyan was declared a champion, Tigran Martirosyan became a silver medalist. Vanik Avetisyan conquered a small bronze medal, Gor Minasyan – 2 silver medals and Simon Martirosyan – a bronze medal.

The Armenian women’s weightlifting team became a European team winner scoring 449 points. Ukraine placed second with 435 points and Turkey – third with only 399 points.

Hripsime Khurshudyan and Nazik Avdalyan became European champions, Sona Poghosyan finished 4th, Arpine Dalalayan – 6th, Anna Govelyan – 9th, Izabella Yaylyan – 10th and Christine Petrosyan  - 5th.
