Armenia’s sambo national team head coach, Vovik Khojayan opines that fortune abandoned our athletes at the World Sambo Championship.
“I think that placing 2nd at the World Championship isn’t so bad. It would be better for Tigran to win a gold medal as he deserved it. We have another medal, Ernest Hayrapetyan placed third. We had such European champions who were neck and neck with their opponents. This time fortune abandoned our athletes”, said Khojayan to an ANOC reporter.
Our athletes returned from the World Sambo Championship, in Casablanca with two medals. Ernest Hayrapetyan (57kg) became a bronze medalist and Tigran Kirakosyan from Vanadzor (52kg) won a silver medal.
