Karen Tonakanyan: If I didn’t have a fracture I wouldn’t give a chance to my opponent.

Boxer Karen Tonakanyan at 60 kg won a bronze medal at the European Games underway in Minsk.

The Armenian boxer participated in the semifinal bout with a fracture of the left hand thumb and lost 4:1 to Belarusian Dzmitry Asanau.

After the bout Tonakanyan told about the bout and summed up the participation in the European Games in the briefing with the ANOC press service.

“I tried not to concentrate on the injury but couldn’t work with the left hand at all as it is not simply an injury but a fracture. I did what I could with one hand. I’m sure if I didn’t have a fracture I wouldn’t give a chance to my opponent. I see no difference between the second and third places, anyway, you become a prize winner, only the champion stands out,” he said.
