Wrestler Garnik Mnatcakanyan lost in the finals, Davit Safaryan became a bronze medalist

The 2016 European OG Qualifying tournament has kicked off in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

Garnik Mnatcakanyan (57kg) lost 0:10 to Bulgaria’s Vladimir Dubov in the finals and satisfied with a silver medal.

Davit Safaryan (65kg) gained absolute advantage over Austria’s Maximilian Auserleitner fighting for bronze. 

On April 16 freestyle wrestlers of 74kg and 85kg weight classes as well as Greco-Roman wrestlers of 75kg and 85 kg weight classes will compete.

The qualification gained by Garnik Mnatcakanyan was the second for freestyle wrestling team. Prior to it, Levan Berianidze (125kg) had got a qualification at the 2015 World Championship.

Let us recall that this is the first Olympic qualifier where only finalists gain a qualification.
