The official website of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia continues the project, “Road to Rio”, before the start of the 31st Rio Summer Olympic Games where it will tell about the athletes representing Armenia at the Olympics, and their photos made by photographer Hakob Berberyan specially for the “Road to Rio” project.
The next hero of out project is Armenia’s weightlifting team member, super heavyweight Ruben Aleksanyan. He was born in 1990 and stated weightlifting when he was 7. Aleksanyan’s father, who had been engaged in weightlifting long ago, had a great influence on his decision to engage in weightlifting. Ruben studies at the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture. During our photo session Ruben stood out with his restraint.
- What lucky mascot are you going to take with you to the Olympics?
-I have a lucky mascot, but I won’t say what it is.
-Whom would you like to see with you or among spectators?
-When I am at the arena I don’t see anyone.
-Whom are you going to share your success with first?
-I think with my friends and the coaching staff.
-How would you like to remember these Olympics?
-I want to remember the Rio Olympics as historical.
-Please describe the Olympic Games in three words.
-I’ll say in one word – a pinnacle of a big work.
